Why Compelling Website Copy Matters

by | Dec 10, 2019 | 0 comments

It’s one thing to have an aesthetically pleasing website but it’s another thing to have compelling website copy that meshes well with your design.

Your website copy is an overall picture of your brand’s style, tone, and mission.

Just like your design and website’s efficiency, it only takes a few seconds for the website’s written content to impress your ideal customer or client. It can either make or break you!

This is why you should understand the value of compelling website content. At the end of the day, it drives $$$ to your brand.

It drives traffic and converts your call-to-actions into paid customers or clients.

That’s something that every brand undoubtedly needs. As a business owner, you should want your brand’s website copy to stand out from your competitors. The only way to do that is to bring something different to the table – which is your brand’s unique story.

People love stories! It engages and compels them to love your brand.

You have to build the know, like, trust, factor on your website.

So, what exactly measures up as compelling website copy?

These 3 points are a great way to get started in visualizing what you want your copy to say.

  • Showcase your brand’s mission.
  • Inform potential customers or clients on how you could help them.
  • Make sure that your brand’s voice is cohesive and consistent.

These points should hit your potential customers or client’s pain points on every page. Remember they want to know why you’re the best!

Your copy should be a combination of popping headers, bold short sentences, check-lists or bullet points to drive your message home.

You also want to make sure that you capitalize on any images that you use. The copy should essentially tell a story with your chosen image or images on the pages.

There’s nothing worse from a customer’s stand-point than visiting a website that is all over the place. It’s confusing! People get lost in jumbled, incohesive, and fluffy content.

Consumers want to be moved clearly.
