Can you believe that we’re embarking on a new decade?
2020 is weeks away! While there is so much anticipation for what the new year could bring in your business, this is also the perfect time to reflect to make everything clear for your potential customers or clients.
This all starts at the foundation of your business – your website. Customer experience starts the moment that your potential customer or client visits your website.
Take a moment to ask yourself, “Am I showcasing
If you want to give people a better experience and clearly articulate why your business should serve them, you have to do a content audit for your site.
Your content audit should be part of your strategic process as you get ready for the first quarter of the year. I want you to take a look at all of the pages of your website and ask yourself the following questions:
- Is my website cluttered with information?
- Am I clearly addressing the pain points of my ideal customer or client?
- Am I including enough keywords on my pages?
- Is my branding cohesive and consistent on all of the pages?
Additionally, you want to make sure that there are no broken links, non-working and low quality videos or photos, and no grammatical errors, that could send your potential customer or client to exit your site.
Make sure that your site is aesthetically pleasing at every angle.
Additionally, collect your data and analytics.
Find out how many page views each of your pages are receiving. Also, if you haven’t already, install a feature on your site that allows people to share your pages on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. If you already have this feature, find out how many shares your pages or business blog posts are getting.
If you need help strategizing the proper keywords for your site, I encourage you to visit the keyword explorer Moz here. A great resource for helping with metrics/data is the site Screaming Frog. Check it out here.
After you’ve done your audit, I would love to hear from you, if you need my help as a strategic brand storyteller to write new content that resonates with your audience more.
