If you’ve ever launched a course or program, you know the first step in starting an email list.
However, if you’ve ever launched a course or program and you suddenly saw quite a few unsubscribers from your email sequences, you’re probably wondering what you’re doing wrong. Right?
Well, there are a few reasons…
That’s why I want to chat with you about how to quickly lose email subscribers during a launch.
I know, this sounds scary…but at the end of the day, if this has ever happened to you, it’s indeed scary.
So first of all during a launch, your email sequences are meant to introduce people to your offer, educate them, and share those great client testimonials.
Overall, your email sequences are a must-have, if you want to establish yourself as an expert and prime your audience to invest in your course or program. However, why aren’t some of your email subscribers in tune with your emails?
Keep reading to find out.
1. You’re Not Speaking Their Language At All
If you’ve never done market research with your audience, honed in on those past clients or customer’s stories before and after working with you, chances are the language in those emails isn’t resonating.
2. Very Vague Language
I know you’re excited about your launch. You’re ready to share all the bells and whistles but the reality of it all is that features don’t entirely sell your course or program.
Stories sell…
These stories should relate to you as the expert and stories from your past clients or customers.
3. You’re Only Connecting With Your Subscribers During Your Launch
Maybe you started your email list months ago or a year ago and you’ve only emailed your list once or twice.
Now, you’re suddenly popping in to say hey, I have this offer and you should invest now.
It doesn’t work like that…
As much as you would like to make marketing an after-thought or rely on social media networks like Instagram TikToc, or Facebook to do your marketing it doesn’t work this way.
Your email subscribers are special.
They deserve to be nurtured with valuable content in between those exciting launches. They don’t just deserve a freebie and a spot on your list, only to say you have a certain number of subscribers.
All of the reasons above tie into one particular thought, which is the importance of honing in closer to the needs of your potential audience.
I always ask my launch copy clients very specific questions in terms of their target audience. Those answers bring your course or program launch to life where people can envision themselves on the other side with great results after learning from you.
