Have you ever wondered why no one is reading your subscriber emails?
Fortunately, there are ways to stop this.
It’s important that you remember how valuable it is for your brand to have an email list. It should be a non-negotiable. Unlike your social media platforms, you own your email list. If Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn shuts down, guess what? Your email list is still there.
This is why it’s so important to nurture your audience consistently, whether that’s monthly, weekly or daily. It’s your preference but make sure that it’s consistent.
Now, let’s jump into 3 ways to boost your email list.
1. NURTURE YOUR AUDIENCE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING
From the moment that someone hits subscribe on your website, they should instantly be engaged. This is done with a “welcome email.” In this email, you should share why you’re so excited to have them part of your community and what they can expect as a loyal subscriber.
Additionally in your welcome email, you want to keep them engaged with binge-worthy content. This means linking some of your best-performing blogs and videos.
2. INCLUDE AN ENGAGING SUBJECT LINE
Make your subscribers curious or about something. This motivates them to actually open the email. For instance, saying something like “Find out how” or “You won’t believe how this one thing changed my business!” or “5 ways to to do [XYZ].
3. ALWAYS INCLUDE STORYTELLING ELEMENTS
It’s not wise to start your emails pitching your services or products. I’ve read quite a few times in online threads where people say they want to unsubscribe to lists that don’t tell a story. People are looking for a storytelling element that makes your brand relatable to their problem.
Remember, they signed up to your list for a reason and that’s because they wanted value.
It’s all about putting yourself in the shoes of your target audience. The key is to nurture and engage. Sales will come once your subscribers see how valuable and trustworthy you are.
You don’t want them to sign up to your list for a freebie and go ghost on you or hit unsubscribe when you start hitting them with emails on your latest product or services launch.
After reading this, take a moment when you have time to either start your email list or audit your current list. If you need more accountability or help in this area, you’re encouraged to join my FREE Facebook group “Brand Storytelling Collective | A Community for Creatives.”
